Current Research:

WombatI am investigating the female-biased dispersal of bare-nosed wombats (Vombatus ursinus) in Tasmania using landscape genetics. The bare-nosed wombat is a widespread species across Tasmania that has been shown to exhibit female-biased dispersal in previous studies. I attempt to study whether landscape features are contributing to the dispersal differences in between the sexes. By generating resistance maps and utilising Generalised Dissimilarity Modelling (GDM), dispersal patterns of the species can be possibly explained through the use of the landscape by the species. This information will help to determine important landscape features that determine dispersal capabilities of the species as well as the differences of landscape perception in the sexes.
